Registration Payments

No refunds are possible after 17 June 2016. If the event is withdrawn from the Melbourne Fringe Festival prior to this date, 75% of the registration fee will be refunded. Participation in the 2016 Festival is subject to the terms outlined in the 2016 Festival Contract.

All registration fees are GST free.

Booking Fee

A $4.50 booking fee will be applied to all bookings online or over the phone. 

Exchanges and refunds

No refunds are available unless a performance is cancelled, re-scheduled or significantly re-located (and you cannot or do not wish to attend the re-scheduled or re-located event), and a refund is requested. Exchanges are only permitted to another performance of the same event. Any exchanges must be made at the original point of sale and will be subject to exchange fees. 


Holders of valid concession cards are eligible for concession price tickets. This includes students and seniors (60+). You may be asked to show your valid concession card when purchasing or collecting your tickets. 


Come as a group and save on ticket prices. The number in brackets next to ‘Group’ indicates how big your group needs to be in order to qualify for the group discount.

Children under 2 (Babes-in-arms)

Children under the age of two do not need a ticket. Please note this means children will need to sit on your lap as they will not have a seat. Please be mindful of the show’s content when taking along a small child.

Conditions of Entry

Upon entry to the venue ticket-holders agree to be photographed for promotional use of Melbourne Fringe. It is also a condition of entry to a performance that no recording or photographic devices are used. Including mobile phones, which must be switched off prior to the beginning of the performance. Your fellow audience members and performer will be delighted by your manners.

Delivery Method

Melbourne Fringe issues Print@Home tickets. This requires customers to have an email address. Please ensure you have checked your spam folder if you have not received the tickets to your inbox. If tickets are purchased during the festival at a Hub Venue then a standard ticket will be issued. 

Latecomer Policy

The performance will begin at the advertised time. Venues and Front of House staff reserve the right to admit latecomers only if there is a suitable moment in the performance. Management reserves the right to refuse admission; this policy is to prevent disruption to other patrons and the performance.

Lost Tickets

Melbourne Fringe reserves the right not to process a refund for lost tickets.

Melbourne Fringe and Live Performance Australia

Melbourne Fringe issues tickets in accordance with the Live Performance Australia (LPA) Ticketing Code of Practice. For a copy of the LPA Ticketing Code for consumers please click here .

Melbourne Fringe accepts VISA and Mastercard for online and phone sales ONLY.

Fringe Hub Box Offices accept VISA and Mastercard, and cash. These Box Offices are located at North Melbourne Town Hall and the Lithuanian Club (North Melbourne), and an additional Ticketing Booth Located in City Square (CBD).
Fringe Hub Box Office opening hours are 6pm – 10:30pm Tuesday –Saturday and 5pm-9:30pm Sunday from 15th September - 2nd October (no Mondays). City Square Ticket Booth opening hours are 2pm – 7pm Tuesday – Sunday (closed Mondays) from 15th September - 2nd October.

Print@Home Tickets

Your confirmation email is NOT your ticket. You will need to open your PDF ticket by clicking on the link inside your confirmation email. 

Print@Home tickets can be printed or presented at the venue on a smart phone or tablet. If printed, it must be ensured that the QR code is able to be scanned. 

Ticket Resale

Tickets may not, without prior written consent from Melbourne Fringe, be resold at a premium, offered as a prize or used for advertising or other promotional use.

Unless a performance is categorised as a children or family show content may not be suitable for all ages. For more information on show content please visit the specific performance’s page on our website or printed guide.

Under 18 policy

Please note, some venues may have liquor licensing in place that does not allow under 18s in past a certain time. If unsure, you are advised to contact the venue.

Every effort has been made to ensure program details are correct, however details are subject to change where necessary and without notice.


Please read these Terms of Sale prior to purchasing a ticket for any event presented in the Melbourne Fringe Festival program.  By purchasing a ticket to a Melbourne Fringe event, you are agreeing to these Terms of Sale.

Conditions of purchase

1) The ticket cannot be returned or refunded after purchase except as provided for in the LPA Code of Practice for Event Ticketing .

2) The right is reserved to add, withdraw or substitute artists, performers or events, vary ticket prices, and/or vary advertised programmes, seating arrangements and audience capacity .

3) The right of admission is reserved by the venue and/or entrepreneur and/or its agent. Late arrival may result in non-admission.

4) It may be a condition of entry to individual events that a search of person and/or their possessions will be required at the time of the entry to the venue.

5) Entry may be refused if tickets are damaged or defaced in any way or are not purchased from Melbourne Fringe or other authorised points of sale.

6) Professional cameras, video cameras and other recording devices are not permitted.

7) If other conditions apply, they are displayed either in the box office or near the entrance to the venue.

8) By purchasing a ticket, attending an event or otherwise dealing with Melbourne Fringe, you agree to be bound by the Melbourne Fringe privacy policy.  A copy of the privacy policy can be viewed here {hyperlink}.

9) These Terms of Sale are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.

Gift Voucher Terms and Conditions
Gift vouchers are treated as cash and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.

Gift Vouchers can be used to redeem products sold via the Melbourne Fringe ticketing channels only.

Gift vouchers may only be used for purchasing admission tickets to the 2016 Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Gift vouchers cannot be redeemed for Fringe events ticketed by external venues.

Gift vouchers cannot be used for any other purchases (including without limitation, candy bar purchases or any purchases from festival partners and/or sponsors) unless expressly specified.

Gift vouchers cannot be returned or exchanged (whether in whole or in part) for cash. The value stated on the voucher (or remaining on the voucher after partial redemption) is expressed inclusive of GST.

Any purchases which exceed the value of the gift voucher will require the holder to pay the difference in price using another form of tender. No change will be given and any remaining balance will remain on the gift voucher to be used in whole or in part against future purchases.

Gift vouchers will expire at 11.59pm Sunday 2 October 2016. Any balance that remains on the gift voucher after expiry will not be available for any use.
